EX: find the inclination of the line
1) the line 2x + 6y = 9
first, find the slope by putting this in slope-intercept form
y= -1/3x + 3/2
second use the formula
m=tan(alpha)
third solve for alpha
-1/3= tan(alpha) take inverse of tan
alpha= inverse of tan (-1/3)
tan(-1)=18.434
tan is negative in the second and fourth quad
161.565 degrees in the second and 341.566 in the fourth
convert these into degrees minutes and second:
inclination= 161 degrees 33' 54" and 341 degrees 33' 58"
